The man who unfolded a thousand hearts.

Documentary on the work of Spanish cardiologist, Francisco Torrent-Guasp (1931-2005), who solved a important myster about the anatomy of the human heart and how it works. Torreng-Guasp was a medical student at Salamanca and Complutensis Madrid Universities from 1950 to 1955 where he became a doctor in Medicine and Surgery. Over the next 25 years, Torrent-Guasp performed dissections on over 1000 hearts of different species including worms, fish, reptiles, mammals and humans. In 1972, he discovered the ventricular myocardial band, a continuous muscular band and was nominated for the Nobel Prize in Medicine in 1978.
