Lettering

Inscription in Cyrillic characters on banner hanging on back wall: "Veṛuiu Gospoda Iisusa Khrista i spacšišʹesʹty", which is a phonetic rendering in Cyrillic characters of mock-Russian (Bulgarian? Galician?) for "Believe in our Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved". The last word is equivalent to the Russian "spasjóssja" (you will be saved) Pencil inscription on verso: "Red Cross Hosp. Nov. 1876"
