A passage from the Qur'an, in the kufic style of calligraphy, in which the inhabitants of Mecca are warned of punishment. "We (Allah) would certainly have opened for them (people of Mecca) blessings from heaven and earth, but they repelled it so we rewarded them accordingly to what they have wanted" Sura 7.96
