Description

David Robertson looks back over the history of the Cavendish Laboratory in Cambridge. Three major discoveries were made here: the discovery of the electron in 1897, the neutron in 1932 and the structure of DNA in 1953. The programme includes archive recordings of some of the famous figures who worked at the Cavendish in the past as well as interviews with scientists currently undertaking research in the laboratory.
