About this work
Description
Leaflet advertising mineral water from the Battle Bridge Wells (at the top of Gray's Inn Road, south of what is now King's Cross Station). The waters are supposed to have cured: constipation, scurvy, rheumatism, nervous afflictions, indigestion, bilious disorders, fluor albus, head aches, venereal complaint, seminal weakness and worms. Includes a statement to this effect by A.G. Sinclair, M.D. and a poem by A. Chambers of Cecil Court, London (1797). The waters could be taken at the pump room or delivered in bulk on request.
