About this work

Description

A confocal microscope image of a child’s tooth dentine which shows the staining caused by successive doses of tetracycline during antibiotic treatment as the dentine has formed. The brightest stain represents a large dose and the less intense lines smaller doses. This all indicates an erratic, poorly supervised course of antibiotic therapy. Biomedical Image Awards 1998.
