Lettering

Titian. In the collection of Ed. Knight esq. The monogram 'SR IR' in bottom-right corner indicates the ownership by Sir Joshua Reynolds of the drawing later in the collection of Ed. Knight (presumably either the Hereford and Worcestershire iron manufacturer Edward Knight (1734-1812), whose collection was kept at his house at Portland Place in London, or Jane Austen's brother Edward Knight (1767-1852)
