Shiga toxin uptake by human epithelial cells

Human HeLa cells inoculated with purified Shiga toxin. Shiga toxin is produced by enterohaemorrhagic Escherichia coli but here toxin uptake can be observed without bacterial infection. Cell nuclei are stained blue, Shiga toxin is stained red, and actin green.
