Description

Bible. N.T. Matthew 2. The Virgin arranges the pillows underneath the head of the large figure of Christ represented here. Beneath the bed are the heads of the ox and the ass. The reclining Christ holds a boyish figure in his hands, who holds a sphere (the apple, indicating his role as redeemer) and appears to take another sphere which sits in a cup proffered by the saluting king. Joseph, on the far right, holds a forked stick
