Identified in Goodall's lettering as “Iriartea species”, but the morphology of the root cone (sparse, widely spaced, spinose roots) is indicative of Socratea. A single species occurs in Guyana, Socratea exorrhiza. The uniform shape of the trunk (lacking any bulge), the crownshaft and the shape of the pinnae are concordant with S. exorrhiza (A.
