About this work
Description
Scientists trying to make an HIV/AIDS vaccine are having little success with their experiments with monkeys. One line of research is to find a vaccine to slow the development of AIDS - so it does not become full-blown. This could, however, create a population of carriers. Dr John Orran, who is studying HIV variations in Uganda, suggests that the virus changes so frequently there is a danger of creating a vaccine for yesterday's virus.
