Spectacles give unique aid to the blind. A pair of spectacles that can give blind people a sound picture of their environment by picking up reflected sounds from obstacles in the blind person's path, were demonstrated at the Strand Palace Hotel, London, this afternoon by 21-year old blind student Ivan Pivac ... Backed by the National Research Development Corporation, the spectacles were developed by Professor Leslie Kay leading a team of engineers and orientaion-and-mobility specialists at the University of Canterbury in New Zealand.
