About this work
Description
A film made in support of fluoridation. Happy children play in a playground but unfortunately many have tooth decay from an early age from eating sweet things, snacking between meals and not brushing their teeth properly. Several examples of tooth decay are shown in photographic form. Tooth decay is extremely prevalent with many cavities; the proper way to brush teeth is demonstrated. The final part of the film promotes the benefits of fluoridation. Professor Mansbridge offers his opinions regarding the benefits. He refers to a study of two towns where the town with fluoride occuring naturally resulted in children with noticeably less tooth decay. The film was made at the point government was considering adding fluoride to the water supply and to underpin the efforts of the dental community to promote this.
