A change of mind. Part 1, The child inside.

The first in a 6-part series about psychoanalysis which features case studies of patients and their therapists. This part looks particularly at the effects of upsetting experiences in childhood and how early experiences in life can stunt and prevent development. We hear from psychoanalysts Jock Sutherland, Director of the Tavistock Clinic 1947-1968, Carol Tibbetts from Haringey Child Guidance, Norman Vella a group psychoanalyst from Pine Street Day Centre, Margot Schiemann also from Pine Street and Haya Oakley psychotyherapist at the Philadelphia Association. The patients include a young boy whose father walked out on him when he was 7-years-old and a very depressed man who, in his 40s, learned to express himself through art.
