Description

Abel Drugger is the ingenuous tobacconist in Jonson's 1610 play. David Garrick's performance of the role in 1743 made the character well-known, and the play was often revised to include more scenes featuring Drugger. Garrick retired from acting in 1776, a year before this print was made
