Description
The British Museum catalogue suggests that the establishment depicted might be that of J.B. de Mainauduc. Mary R. McCarl, Gloucester, Mass., has suggested (verbally to the Wellcome Library, 5 July 2002) that the man in the right background might be Ebenezer Sibly, comparing the engraved portrait of him, 1807, after Dodd
