Description
Dr Jack Kreindler and Professor Greg Whyte look into different ways of controlling chronic pain as well as experimenting on themselves to illustrate their findings. Firstly we meet Holly who has had chronic lower back pain for nine years. Then we learn about the RICE technique (rest, ice, compression, elevation) for sports injuries. Arnold is one of the eight million people in the UK with osteoarthritis - Professor White wears a pressure suit for a day in order to experience the pain of osteoarthritis. The pain he feels are revealed in his raised cortisol levels.
