Description
The commodities are represented by figure's heads replaced by objects: kettle, radish, kimono cloth, clock, bale of rice, cask of sake, straw mat and a crate of foreign manufactured goods
Three other foreigners, one with a telescope, gleefully look on from afar; on the bottom right are harlots and personifications of the people's strength, who look on in amazement
A possible reference to the deflation period in the mid 1880s
