1 item 1 l. + 128 pp. + 5 bl. ll. + 11 ll. + 12 ll. folio. 34 x 26 cm. Original boards damaged. With the engraved title-page and 20 plates, of which the first is wanting and 9 added plates. The 11 ll. at the end of the text are by the same hand, but on paper of smaller format 321/2 x 20 cm., and have a heading: 'Description des Planches, tirée de l'édition de 1742'.

Purchased 1912.

The author was a French writer and naturalist. This work was based on his own natural history collections. He was elected F.R.S. in 1749.
