Description

Above, two angels in the light of the setting sun acclaim a circle of stars which is suspended over Lavater's tomb. On the front of the tomb is a portrait of Lavater in a circular frame bordered with laurel. Below, the worm Ouroboros with a butterfly and a shell (?). Left, a woman and two children mourning; right, an angel with a down-turned torch
