Box file containing items of ephemera in acid free sleeves, arranged alphabetically by manufacturer: A-K.
The leaflets are mostly advertising beds for hospitals but also include: Anesthesia equipment (Protoxyde d'Azote : sold by L'Air Liquide : 1938), Aqua-Tec and Arjo Hospital Equipment bathing lifting equipment, Auriema Ltd.'s Cardiofax electrocardiograph (1974), Brinmark elastic supports, Decubicaire anti-pressure pads (to prevent bed sores), wheelchairs and walking aids, traction units, patient lifts, bed boards, 'rippling' beds, adjustable beds, bed elevators, lifting poles, Her. Faubel's 'Perplex' device for urethral lavage (or prophylactic injections - 1905?) for cases of gonnorrhoea and Industria G.m.b.H.'s (Cologne, 1904) trusses and Arsellin-binden braces to correct musculoskeletal and postural problems, Hospital Contracts Company, Ltd.'s hot water bottles (1940s?), Jones Metal Products Co. (urinals, pus basins, funnels, irrigators).
