    vacancy thus occasioned. One or two other vacancies have occurred in the Official Staff during the year, which we have filled up, we hope, satisfactorily. The Medical Superintendent and other Officers of the Asylum continue to discharge their duties to our entire satisfaction. We annex copies of the respective Reports of the Rev. T. J. L. Davies and the Rev. Rather Knight (Schedules I and II). 4.—We have held the usual Monthly Meetings, also Meetings of the House Committee as required by the Lunacy Acts, when every Patient has been given an opportunity of conversing with some Members of the Committee and thus apply to be discharged. Every such application is fully considered by the Committee, so as to avoid the possibility of any person being improperly detained in the Asylum. The Agricultural and Engineering Sub-Committees have also met from time to time. There have been 12 Monthly Meetings and six House Committee Meetings during the year.
