    The editions of this Address published severally by the State Medical Society, the Senate, and the Assem- bly of New-York, were printed when I was unable to revise the press, for which it had not been duly pre- pared ; as I did not anticipate that the immediate publi- cation of it would have been deemed important. In com- plying with-the very flattering request of distinguished members of the bar, the writer has endeavoured to render this edition less unworthy of the interest the subject has excited.
