Project Summary:Mission to Lars is a documentary feature film about Tom Spicer, who has Fragile X Syndrome, his brother William, sister Kate, and the journey they take to find Tom's hero, Lars Ulrich, the drummer with Metallica. In trying to help their profoundly learning disabled brother achieve his oft-stated and obsessional dream, Will and Kate end up learning about Fragile X Syndrome, about the effect of the fragile X (FMR1) gene on their brother and, more widely, on their family.
