Correspondence between Wilkins and molecular biologist Max Perutz, chiefly relating to comments about Perutz made by James Watson in The double helix: a personal account of the discovery of the structure of DNA (Atheneum, New York, 1968) and subsequent discussion of Perutz’s role in sharing information on King’s College London DNA research with Watson and Francis Crick. Also photocopy correspondence and related papers from the Medical Research Council (MRC), including the constitution of the MRC Biophysics Committee, 1948, and debate on the confidentiality or otherwise of MRC reports. Original file title ‘Perutz’.
