About this work

Description

Darlington initially encouraged Pontecorvo to apply for the post and to find out more information about the conditions and salary. In this letter he also enclosed some information he received from the Registry Department at Cambridge about the position and the liklihood of the new Professor receiving funds to expand the Department. Pontecorvo mentions in his letter that he was planning on visiting Harvard with a view to finding out more about the Biology Department and the possibility of joining the staff there.
