Photograph of an oil painting of Captain Thomas Coram (c.1668-1751), philanthropist who founded the London Foundling Hospital, in octagonal centre piece and decorative surround design. The painting was acquired at auction from Fosters on 29th July 1925, Lot 138, and accessioned by the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum (CC 3586).
