About this work

Description

This footage is of a man undergoing electro-convulsive therapy or ECT. A nurse holds up a blackboard providing commentary on the procedure: ‘Contact paste temporal region’, ‘After electrode is put on calibration of head resistance’, ‘Convulsion knob pressed 130V applied for 0.23 seconds’. The man is then shown 10 minutes after convulsion, followed by a shot 2 hours after convulsion in which he is fully recovered playing croquet with others.
