About this work

Description

A manuscript guide to bandages and binding techniques by Yoshio Kensaku, who was a practitioner of Dutch medicine in Nagasaki. The techniques are said on the title page to be those of Joseph Jacob Ritter von Plenck (1738-1807), an Austrian dermatologist who wrote a large number of medical treatises in the 18th century, some of which were translated into Japanese in the Edo period. This copy was made in the first half of the 19th century.
