About this work
Description
Tara Holden was born partially sighted and has been going progressively blind since. She is now 17 and, thanks to her mother Bernadette agreeing to donate stem cells from her own eye, she has the possibility of surgery to radically improve her eyesight. Tara is nervous about getting 'too much sight' as she has become used to life as a partially-sighted person and her entire social life is built around her faulty vision. Meanwhile Tara's 19-year-old sister Terri is also about to undergo surgery to correct her chin which has never grown properly following a rare childhood cancer. This programme follows the three of them as their lives are changed by surgery and we see quite detailed footage of both girls' operations.
