Description

Glass plate negative of two photographs. The bottom photograph is of sports day at Bournville Works. The firm leveled and layed out the men's recreation ground in 1896, and the pavilion depicted was a gift from Bournwille works in commemoration of the coronation of King Edward VII. The bottom photograph is a performance of "The Pied Piper." The play was written by the poet Mr John Drinkwater for the Bournville workers, and the play was performed in the summers 1911-1914.
