Lettering
Imperiality royalty nobility
"To the purchaser of: 'Imperiality royalty and nobility'. ... Having a great deal of spare time on my hands, a little short of a mania for anything appertaining to Imperiality royalty and nobility must be my excuse for the accompanying book. I have carefully placed them according to precedence as far as is in my power ... It has taken me 14 days to place the portraits in the leaves, but the perusing of the above is and has been a matter of months. ... There are 200 odd portraits, and I will lastly tell you that the coronets which surmount the heads of the 'noble men and ladies' are from my own plate, which I have had engraved. Very truly yours, Rene de Beer"--autograph letter at beginning of album
