091339/Z/10/Z: From Another Kingdom

Project Summary:From Another Kingdom is an exhibition and event programme that will explain the importance of fungi and the relevance of medical mycology to our daily lives. A major, multi-media 3D exhibition will provide the central attraction for a programme that will also include a variety of public debates, workshops and art events to stimulate interest in and an appreciation of an important group of organisms that have been under-represented in museums and that are important causes of and treatments for a variety of diseases. The project will also demistify and educate the public on the reality of psychoactive substances in some species of mushroom. The project will use real scientists to tell real science stories based on their research.
