About this work

Description

Correspondence and other material relating to cats. Haldane and his wife Helen Spurway were involved in cat breeding to study genetic changes such as colour variation over several generations. The cats they bred subsequently needed to be re-homed, and the majority of the correspondence in this file is from members of the public offering to adopt kittens. Also includes a copy of Our Cats magazine February 1949 featuring in article on colour in cats by Haldane; the text of a radio talk on cats given by Haldane (no date); copies of cat pedigree forms and general correspondence on cat breeding.
