About this work

Description

Footage shows amputation at the knee, then at five weeks after limb fitting; the male patient is walking well. He is fully clothed to begin with and then without trousers. Patient demonstrates his mobility. Several other recovered stumps are seen (patients are not shown). An intertitle indicates 'Amputation 20 years ago'; the entire leg from below the hip has been amputated.
