Description

Photograph of a print depciting Eleanor Butler and Sarah Ponsonby stood outside with their dog wearing long black dresses with matching jackets and top hats. Well known to their contemporaries, the pair were wealthy Irish women who avoided marriage by moving to North Wales and living together, and were rumoured to be a lesbian couple.
