About this work

Description

Investigates unregulated experiments with LSD on thousands of human guinea pigs, without their informed consent, between the mid-1950s and 1970. Those involved were civilians in British hospitals and services personnel at Porton Down. Similar experiments were conducted by the U.S. Army and the C.I.A. at Edgewood Arsenal, Maryland on services personnel who were kept ignorant of the true nature of the tests. Survivors describe their experiences and their current impairments which they attribute to LSD. The programme reveals the inaccuracy of British government statements concerning the experimental use of this drug.
