Project Summary:Over the last decade Ireland has had one of the highest rates of teenage suicide in Europe and Cork has been at the epicentre of this epidemic. FML is a unique theatre piece made by Irish teenagers exploring their insights into this phenomenon, working with renowned theatre Belgian director Pol Heyvaert and Dr Ella Arensman of the National Suicide Research Foundation in Ireland, expert in the field of suicide research, counselling and prevention. This unique team of teenagers, a theatre-maker and a leading expert in the field of suicide prevention research will create a 'whose dunn it' or 'who will do it' creating texts, films and songs based on their stories, Bebo and Facebook blogs and research into this epidemic. The piece will tour also to Belfast (which experiences a similar problem), the UK, Holland and Belgium reaching as wide an audience as possible.
