The following description was provided by James Gardiner: "Extremely well-dressed drag, wearing the high fashion of the mid-late 1920's. May even be a woman with masculine features, as we have no clues as to his/her identity, and the cropped (‘shingled’) hair, small tight ‘cloche’ hats, and flattened bosoms present an intentionally boyish appearance. I am pretty certain the message to verso ["Wake me up Floss"] has no relevance to the image, and was just a message scribbled on the nearest piece of paper to hand."
