Black and white photograph of Alla Nazimova, a Russian-American actress, director, producer and screenwriter, showing head and shoulders in profile. Nazimova was openly bisexual and had relationships with Jean Acker, Eva Le Gallienne, Dorothy Arzner, Mercedes de Acosta, Dolly Wilde, Bridget Bate Tichenor, and Glesca Marshall. She is also credited with originating the phrase 'sewing circle' as code for lesbian and bisexual actresses.
