Description
Reproduction of a framed oil painting depicting a dying man securing last sacrement, also described as "the devil at a deathbed by an unknown Spanish painter, 17th century" on the index card used to accession Wellcome's visual collections in the 20th century (CC 5046). The glass plate is listed as one of the negatives taken abroad for Captain Saint in the "M" series glass plate negative register: M0000731-M0004950, and states that the original painting was purchased from Ballestra, Barcelona but it is unclear whether it is still held by Wellcome Collection.
