In Mexico George Fraser visited the Instituto Mexicano del Seguro Social Centro de Investigación Biomédica de Occidente, Guadalajara. He gave two lectures in Spanish on 5 and 6 October, 'Las Causas Genéticas de la Sordera Profunda Infantil' (The Genetical Causes of Profound Childhood Deafness) and 'Las Causas Genéticas de la Sordera Profunda Infantil' (The Genetical Causes of Blindness). He was invited to Cuba to attend the 8th Latin American Congress of Genetics and the 2nd Cuban Congress of Genetics, 13-16 October.
