Reproduction note
After one of the six paintings of "The progress of civilisation" painted by Barry for the Royal Society of Arts, London, from 1777 to 1783 However there are differences between Barry's painting and this print. In the painting, Somerset House appears to the left of St Paul's: in the print it is replaced by a temple.
