About this work

Description

Bundles of fingerprints cards divided into different sets. One card per person, with two fingerprints pasted to the front and the name of the individual on the reverse. The cards are arranged loosely according to a reference number assigned by Galton to each individual. There is a set of index cards (GALTON/2/9/6/11/3/6) arranged alphabetically by surname which give these reference numbers.

Many fingerprint cards appear to be missing or out of order as not every number is accounted for.

Also includes a number of miscellaneous objects described as "fingerprint apparatus".
