Description
Black and white reproduction of a photograph of two cowhide serons, or bales or parcels wrapped in animal hide, used for transporting cinchona bark. The serons were possibly photographed for Malaria section of the international celebration and exhibition : three hundredth anniversary of the first recognized use of cinchona by Europeans, 1630-1930, an exhibition hosted by the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum in 1930. They were lent by "His Majesty Alphonso XIII, King of Spain" and are either listed as no. 1 or no. 3 in the souvenir catalogue.
