Photograph of carved wooden effigy on pedestal with medicine bags hung around the neck from a western region of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, possibly the Kasai or Mayombe regions. The object depicted was accessioned by the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum in May 1936 [Accession No. R36304; R2402/1936] but is not held by Wellcome Collection.
