About this work

Description

We use huge numbers of pain killers administered in different ways. Drugs fall mainly into three types and this programme describes their origins and actions. Other ways of dealing with pain, without drugs, offer effective alternatives in many cases. This programme contains the following sequences: non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and anaesthetics, extract of willow, side effects, cocaine, anesthetic injection, epidural catheta, the opium poppy and how it is used in the body, multi-faceted pain management techniques, massage, acupuncture, electrical stimulation (TENS), secondary pain, relaxation therapy, sensory therapy and regular exercise.
