The following description was provided by James Gardiner: "Head and shoulders portrait of two men in elaborate period costume ( although quite which period is a mystery). Lots of wig and make-up going on, anyway, and way in which the dark lipstick has been applied ('cupid's bow'), would indicate a date of mid 1920s."
