Biographical note
Project Summary:Prior's Court Foundation is at the forefront of autism provision for five to nineteen year olds. With this event we aim to consolidate developments in autism in both the education and research sectors and stimulate discussion on the future directions for all working with autism. There have been a number of recent conferences specific to autism research, but this conference will give an engaging view of what has led to the current state of the autism knowledge and will be wholly accessible to parents, professionals and practitioners alike. By bringing advancements made since the earliest descriptions of autism together with present trends in research and practice the conference will allow reflection on the direction of Autism in the future, hence the title' Autism 2020'. The conference will be the inaugural vent in the Dame Stephanie Shirley Lecture Series and as founding patron and an influential figure in the autism field, Dame Stephanie will give the opening address.
