Biographical note

Applied Spectral Imaging (ASI) was an Israeli company manufacturing bio-imaging equipment. Following a visit from Dr Bob Buckwald, President of ASI, to Cambridge in February 1996 a collaboration on "optimization of Applied Spectral Imaging kits" was proposed, with an ASI researcher Dr Irit Bar-Am spending a period in Ferguson-Smith's laboratory. The collaboration also brought in Amersham International as UK manufacturers of the kits and kit components. In November 1997 Ferguson-Smith entered into an agreement with ASI on chromosome paint protocols.
